ARCHIE MATTHEWS RETURNS TO SWANSEA CITY

Andrew Gate • February 3, 2023

Oxford City FC can confirm that Goalkeeper Archie Matthews has returned to parent club Swansea City.

The 20-year-old shot stopper picked up an injury in our Oxfordshire Senior Cup match with Oxford United last week, so has returned to his parent club to be treated.

Although his time at the club was short, the 'keeper made an instant impact for City, saving a penalty in his first match against Hampton & Richmond to keep the Hoops in the game.

He leaves with our best wishes as he starts his recovery and we will follow his career with great interest.

We'd also like to thank Swansea City for allowing Archie to join us on loan this season and wish the Swans the best for the rest of their Championship campaign.
