Unbeaten league start ends at Ascot

Oxford City Women's unbeaten league start ended at Ascot today as a stunning first half helped the home side to a 4-1 win at the Racecourse Ground.

City were not at the races in the first 45 minutes and found themselves 4-0 down at half time as the unbeaten league leaders killed the game inside 45 minutes.

A second half revival saw a last minute consolation goal for the Hoops but the damage had been done as Coach Connor Walton told us:

"No excuses, Ascot are a strong side and we  just didn't match them in the first half. We were below the standards we have set this season and they took full advantage of that. Credit to the players because they got better as the game went on and that showed heart, but we have to start better than that and now it is all about how we react to our first league defeat."

Rolling subs: Grey, Bradley, Kehayova, Amos
