City Women's Manager thrilled with Semi-Final display.

Oxford City Women’s Manager Connor Walton was thrilled with his side's performance as the Hoops booked their place in the Oxfordshire Women's Cup Final.

City went on to win 6-5 on penalties after playing out a 1-1 draw with Oxford University to set up a mouthwatering final against Oxford University.

After the tie, Walton said that his players had got what they deserved out of the match.

“Honestly, I could not have asked for a better performance," he said.

“We went 1-0 down and yes, we panicked for about five minutes, but then we started asking questions of them and started to do the things we were meant to do.

“We got into our mid-block and started to do the right things when we did and didn’t have the ball.

“The girls probably deserved to win in the ninety minutes, but we couldn’t quite get that final finish that we deserved.

“We’ve gone into penalties and they were nervous wrecks but you expect that, and honestly, I couldn’t be prouder of these girls today.

"They deserve every single minute of this moment.

“They all deserve massive credit, whether they were in the starting eleven, or they came off the bench, they did everything they needed to do on the pitch.

“Right now, we’re back in the league next Sunday and we’ll focus on that before the final.”
