The Hoops take on Kidderminster Harriers in the Vanarama National League North.
We take a closer look at the match and some of the stats & facts ahead of the clash.
For the first time this season, the Hoops will play a side they've met before.
Of course, Kidderminster were another side who were relegated from the National League with City last season. The less said about the games the better, as City threw away two goal leads in both matches….
Despite losing their only league away game against Kidderminster, City have previously won at Aggborough in the past.
This was a 2-0 win against ground-sharers Worcester City back in the 2013/14 season.
Both sides have a player on their current books who have played for both clubs.
Cole Kpekawa played for both City and Harriers on loan from Bromley last season, while Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain came on loan to the Hoops from Portsmouth in 2017/18, before moving to Kidderminster in 2023 (although he is currently on loan at Truro City).
Kidderminster and City have pretty much mirrored each other in terms of league performance over the past three seasons.
In 2021/22, both sides lost out in the play-offs, before both going one better in 2022/23 to get promoted to the National League. However, their stay in the National League only lasted a season to end up back in the National League North.
Harriers have actually featured in the Welsh Cup in the past, between 1977 and 1989.
Twice they reached the final losing to Wrexham in a replay, and Swansea City.
The winners traditionally were entered into the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, but English sides who won would have been ineligible and so wouldn’t have been a route for European competition for Kidderminster.
