The Hoops will take on Carterton Ladies in the final (which takes place at the Velocity Stadium, 3PM kick-off) and Slater has said that preparation has been positive. 

Slater said: “We’ve had a really good few weeks preparing for the final and produced some solid performances in our friendly matches.” 

She added: “This season’s been a difficult one but I really do think we’re prepared for this and can get the result we’re all gunning for.”

“Everyone's so hyped for the final, we feel confident and we are all ready to win some silverware this season!”

Slater has had a successful season with the Hoops, recently picking up the Players’ Player of the Season award for our Women’s team at the Oxford City Awards Evening. 

In her first season with the club, Slater has proved her worth with her versatility across the backline and says that the camaraderie in the team makes the award feel extra special. 

“It was a massive surprise if I’m honest, especially with this being my first season with City. 

“It’s nice to get the recognition from my teammates, we’re such a close knit team so it means a lot!”
