Harvey Greenslade | We want more
Striker looking to kick-on after his first Hoops goal.
Oxford City Striker Harvey Greenslade is looking to kick-on after scoring his first goal for the Hoops.
The Bristol Rovers loanee grabbed City’s equaliser in the 2-2 draw away at Rochdale which was his first goal in the Vanarama National League.
However, the striker isn’t resting on his laurels, and wants to help the club push on in the final matches of the season.
Speaking to www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk , Greenslade said:
“I was more relived than anything [to score his first goal].
“I had a couple of nearly moments that didn’t quite fall my way but to get my first goal for the club was a bit of a relief.
“I think its been coming, I think I deserved to get one and I hope it’s the first of many.
“I think we’ve shown we can do our best to grind out a result. To go to Rochdale and get a point was good for us, but we want more.
“We could’ve got the win. There were a couple of moments where we could’ve got it.
“We know it’s going to be tough at Chesterfield, but everyone in the squad knows we can get something.
“We’re going to give it our all, and if we perform like we did at Rochdale we can get a result. “
Greenslade has been with parent-club Bristol Rovers since the age of seven, and has progressed through the ranks at the Memorial Stadium.
Last season, his previous two loan spells have been in National League South with Chippenham Town & Truro, but the striker is enjoying the step up to the National League with the Hoops.
“I’ve enjoyed every challenge I’ve had so far," he added.
“I’ve had to work my way up, and every time I’ve gone to a team I’ve learnt a lot.
“I’ve enjoyed the National League, and considering I’m still quite young, it’s a good move for me to focus on the physical side.
“I think there’s been some difficult games where we’ve had to work a lot, but I want to keep running and keep what I’m doing.
“I’ve enjoyed the challenge.
“It doesn’t feel like we're a team that’s bottom.
"We feel we can get results and get something if we're all on it. There's been times when we have been, but i feel we've been really unlucky.
"There's not been many times when we've rolled over. I think that win is coming, its just a matter of time."
