LOCKDOWN HEROES CYPHER NAMES AS OXFORD CITY FC’S LATEST KEY PARTNER

Local accountancy business link up with Hoops.

An accountancy firm which has more than trebled its client base after launching a free ‘Lifeboat Call’ service during the pandemic has become a key partner at Oxford City FC.

Cypher offered complimentary support to Oxfordshire business owners hit hardest by lockdown measures during the spring and summer of 2020 with its team of experts sharing key updates and advice to those in need.

The company has since grown from three to 15 members of full-time staff who will be cheering on the Hoops throughout their first campaign in the National League.

The partnership will see Cypher sponsor the Shed End at the RAW Charging Stadium with the company’s branding now emblazoned across one of City’s four main viewing areas.

Matt Williams, founder of Cypher, said: “Oxford City’s rise from years in the Midlands League at the beginning of the millennium to its National League campaign today is nothing short of extraordinary.

“Success we see on the pitch is also mirrored off it, and we’re proud to be associated with a club which truly has the local community at its heart.

"It’s no coincidence every matchday delivers a fantastic, family friendly, day out and extending our support into the 2023-24 season was an easy decision to make.

“Having a seven-day-a-week operation onsite mixing elite level football with holiday camps, youth and junior training and playing provisions plus a full-time educational academy is a great way to make full use of the space available.

“It delivers great exposure for us and gives back to the club many of our team are big followers of.”

Based in Little Baldon on the southern outskirts of Oxford, Cypher is a cloud-based accountancy consultancy which uses technology to operate efficiently and create extra time for its advisers to spend with clients.

Cypher’s team has grown from three to 15 members of full-time staff with its client strength expanding from 80 to hundreds since the turn of the pandemic.

Today, services include annual compliance, regular compliance and business advisory workshops.

“Our year-on-year growth makes it feel like we’re very much on a parallel journey with the football club in terms of development and appeal,” said Matt.

“Our operation was designed to use the technology available to us so we can improve how clients are served by accountants in the modern, digital, age.

“We’d like to wish Ross and the squad every success for the remainder of the season!”

Caroline O’Connor, Partnership Manager at Oxford City FC, added: “We’re really pleased to enter a new partnership with Cypher to coincide with the beginning of the season.

“The team’s work through the pandemic and ongoing commitment to their core services has established Cypher as the go-to digital accountancy firm locally.

Their support of Oxford City FC does not go unnoticed, and we’d like to thank them for backing the Hoops!”
