McEachran sealed the 2-1 victory for Ross Jenkins’ side as he nodded home from Josh Parker’s cross in a rare headed goal for the Hoops.
It was only the midfielder’s second headed goal for the club and his third of the 2022/23 campaign.
City took the lead in the game when Alfie Potter steered home from the edge of the box, before McEachran added the second after 22 minutes.
The squad had to dig deep in the second-half after Nathan Smith pulled one back for the hosts but City defended well to secure the three points thanks to McEachran’s earlier goal.
After the game, he spoke of his delight after scoring and of his hopes that there’ll be more goals on the way.
“The lads were asking how many [headers] I’ve scored here.” Said McEachran.
“I’ve scored two so that’s added to the tally and hopefully I can get a few more.
“I’m happy with any goal, if it goes in the net then I’m happy. I don’t think I score enough goals, so that’s something I need to work on but I’ll be ok.”
City had to work hard for the three points but the whole squad ran themselves into the ground in order to keep the three points and McEachran said that his performance off the ball is something he’s worked hard on.
“The first-half felt a lot easier but I don’t know what happened in the second-half.
“I felt we stopped playing out from the back a bit. As it gets towards the end of the game I’m known for drifting off a bit, so I’ve tried to stay as fit as I can and its paying off, everyone’s saying I look fitter.
“I’ve tried to add that [work rate off the ball] to my game, I’ve never been known for that but I’ve been trying to work on it and do the best I can for the team.
“I love playing, especially the mid-week games but we don’t have too many of them at the moment. I just want the games to keep coming and hopefully we can keep winning.”
