The 32-year-old forward had an excellent January, scoring five goals in five matches. Amongst his five goals in January, he managed to score one brace. This was in the 3-1 victory over Weymouth, back on the 28th January. In the 34th minute, Reece Fleet's in-swinging cross to the edge of the six-yard box, allowing Parker to volley home. Parker then scored a header, burying it top right, to take his team three goals ahead, to secure the win for The Hoops.
His first of the month was scored away at Slough Town from the penalty spot. However, further strikes against St Albans, Hampton & Richmond & the aforementioned double against Weymouth have propelled City up the league.
The new year has brought new aspirations for Oxford City. They have had an amazing start to 2023, going unbeaten after 7 games this calendar year.
The Hoops have taken 17 points out of a possible 21, only drawing twice and winning the remaining five.
They currently sit fourth in the Vanarama National South League, one point behind Havant and Waterlooville and Josh Parker has played a key role to Oxford City’s 2023 unbeaten run. Since joining Oxford City in September, he has scored 12 goals, making him the 7th highest goal scorer in the league this season.
