Oxford City winger Alfie Potter said the team has ‘learned quickly’ as they continue to adapt well to life in the National League, as they look ahead to Hartlepool this Saturday.
City have taken four points from their last two and are unbeaten in four, but face another big challenge against fourth-placed Hartlepool at the RAW Charging Stadium up next.
‘It’s another side near the top of the league, another big, big side at this level. Before the season began, I looked at the first month’s fixtures and thought that was a really tough month to get going with. But then you look at the rest of the season and you start to think there’s going to be no easy games.’
‘But we’re at home, and I think our home form will be a huge factor for us this season. I think we’re definitely confident we can get something from the game.’
Opponents Hartlepool have collected three points on their travels this year so far, their win coming in a tightly-contested affair against Southend.
Potter also spoke on how impressed he was by the sides adaptation to the league after a rocky start.
‘I think it was just belief really. The boys have got more and more confident every week. We’re back to playing the football we were playing last year.’
‘I still think we’ll more than hold our own in this league. For anyone that’s actually watched us now, it’s clear we’ve got players in our team that are more capable of playing at a higher level.’
