Ben has been a fans’ favourite since he joined the club back in 2020 but has expressed his desire to play regularly at this stage in his career.
The decision was a made mutually between the club and the player and Ben leaves with our best wishes & thanks for his efforts whilst with the club.
City Manager Ross Jenkins said: “It was a really tough decision [to let Ben go], he’s been a brilliant servant to the football club and he’s been a credit to himself with how professional he’s been.
“We can’t deny any player the ambition and will to want to play every week and its something we can't guarantee at this club, so it’s important that Ben fulfils that by searching for another club.
“It was a very difficult decision for both parties, he’s very attached to the club and we love him as a person, as a player and as a character. Sometimes a player needs to be looked after and he wants to play football, so hopefully he can do that.”
Everyone at the club would like to wish Ben the best of luck in his future endeavours and thank him for his efforts whilst with the club.
