Chi Ezennolim has said that spirits are high going into Saturday’s match away at Scunthorpe despite the Hoops’ slow start to the season.
The defender has recently recovered from an injury that has kept him side-lined for the first two months of the season to feature for the first team recently.
However, the trip to table-topping Scunthorpe won’t be easy, but Chi is putting the focus firmly on himself ahead of the game.
“It’s going to be a challenge playing against the team at the top of the league.” He said.
“It’ll put us to the test after a good week in training.
“Spirits have been high in training and I think the team have taken on the new instructions well. Training’s been good and straight to the point.
“We’ve gone back to basics. It’s been good and I’ve been learning new things.
“It’s about improving. Whoever coaches or puts on sessions, I just want to learn and take things from the sessions and hopefully that’ll help us win games.”
Returning from injury is tough enough, but as a new member of the squad a spell on the sidelines can be daunting.
However, Ezennolim has heaped the praise on his teammates and said that personnel in the dressing room have made his road to recovery easier.
“I’ve been feeling good.
“I know the results results haven’t been the best, but coming back playing with the boys on the pitch has been easy. We have quality and we’re all on the same wavelength.
“I feel sharp and I’m ready to go.”
