Our Special Guests this Saturday when we welcome Southport to Court Place Farm are Be Free Young Carers, the only independent charity in Oxfordshire working exclusively with young carers.
They support them by widening their life options and improving their emotional and social health, resilience and development because they passionately believe they can be free to fulfil their adult potential unhindered by their childhood responsibilities.
Be Free Young Carers have been operating for more than 28 years across Southern Oxfordshire, throughout South Oxfordshire, the Vale of White Horse Districts and have recently expanded in Oxford city.
They provide advice and guidance, offer befriending and peer support, enabling young carers to meet socialise and have fun, increasing their self-confidence and improving their mental well-being. They work with local schools to educate and offer guidance from referrals to respite opportunities.
They are a not for profit charity and not government funded, relying solely on your donations and fundraising efforts to carry on our amazing work for young carers.
Be Free Young Carers first patron is Darragh Ennis, Darragh is an entomologist, neuroscientist, professional quizzer, and television personality well known as ‘The Menace’ from ITV’s The Chase.
Since 2021, Darragh has been involved with BFYC and said “Being able to support these wonderful young people is a really great opportunity for me to try and make a difference to people who need all the help they can get.
“This close-knit local support provided by these charities, makes a real day-to-day
difference in people’s lives.”
Please make Be Free Young Carers welcome this Saturday.
