David Oldfield: "We have an opportunity to work again on Tuesday night."

Ethan Gough • December 13, 2021

Despite rising to the top of the National League South table on Saturday, David Oldfield has insisted that Tuesday night's match against Dorking is another chance to improve on performances.

Oxford City, for the first time in their 140 year history, went top of the Vanarama National League South table; despite only picking up 1 point in the draw with Chippenham on Saturday.

However, it's straight back to league action as the Hoops now face a difficult test in Dorking Wanderers at the Velocity Stadium on Tuesday. The Hoops boss gave us his thoughts ahead of this fixture.

“We have an opportunity to work again." The Gaffer said.

"We have a huge game against a very difficult side on Tuesday.”

“They have an excellent manager, they’re an excellent club with an excellent journey.”

“There’s a really good unit there, so once again it's another massive test for us.”

Dorking currently sit in 9th position, but are only 7 points off City in top spot. Before last season's curtailment Dorking were flying at the top of NLS, so Tuesday's opponents will be no pushovers, especially with the amount of experienced heads that make up Marc White’s side.

“We must make sure that we prepare as well as we can and look forward to the challenge.” Said Oldfield.
