The Hoops take on The Magpies in the Vanarama National League North.
We take a closer look at the match and some of the stats & facts ahead of the clash.
There have been two prior meetings between the clubs in the National League North back in 2014/15.
Both fixtures that season ended in draws, will that change this weekend?
2020/21 was a particularly successful season for both sides in the FA Cup as they enjoyed their furthest runs in the cup.
Of course for the Hoops this was only equalling their best, but defeated League One Northampton at Court Place Farm, only to lose to Shrewsbury Town in the Second Round.
But Chorley enjoyed a run to the fourth round, with wins against Wigan Athletic, Peterborough United and Derby County, before eventually being narrowly beaten 1-0 by Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers
Both sides’ best performance in the National League North/South is play-off champions, of which they both spent a single season in the National League.
Both sadly finished bottom, Chorley suffering this fate in 2020/21 and City last season.
Chorley have been very consistent finishers in their last decade in the National League North, finishing outside the top 10 just once, a 12th place finish in 2022/23.
Just one other completed National League North season saw them finish outside of a play-off position, back in 2015/16.
An international break special… while City have a record number of internationals called up with Jalen Jones, Kai McKenzie-Lyle, Sam Cox and Andre Burley called up for their nations.
Chorley boast internationals of their own with Adam Henley playing for Wales and Kole Hall turning out for Bermuda.
With thanks to Patrick Lock.
