GET RADIO PARTNER WITH OXFORD CITY FC – THREE YEARS AFTER STATION'S FIRST BROADCAST!

Fortitude Communications • Oct 27, 2023

Get Radio join the Oxford City FC commercial family.

Oxford City FC is pleased to enter a fresh partnership with the county’s fastest growing local radio station, which celebrates its third birthday this year.

Get Radio will be Hoops’ Official Media and Highlights Partner during the club’s first season in the National League and provide matchday highlight packages for all first-team fixtures at the RAW Charging Stadium.

The agreement will also see Get Radio have a pitchside board installed next to the club’s newly laid 3G playing surface and a strong presence in City’s thriving Business Club. Goalkeeper Chris Haigh will also be sponsored by the Get Radio team.

It comes almost three years after Get Radio was launched to shine a light on the region’s local businesses, charities and professionals by providing a voice to all members of the community.

The station is home to multi-award winning and well known Oxfordshire radio presenters Rich Smith and Trevor Marshall.

Loyal listeners across the county start the day at 6am with Get Radio Breakfast, presented by Rich, and finish it with The Get Home, presented by Trev each weekday from 4pm – 7pm.

In between those main shows you’ll hear the music you love from the last 4 decades, along with local news, travel updates and hourly bulletins featuring events taking place across Oxfordshire.

Get Radio continues is dedication to supporting local businesses with The Business Brunch on Sunday mornings, an hour of discussion featuring entrepreneurs and business experts.

Hamish Law, Commercial Director at Get Radio, said the Hoops’ outstanding connection with the local community and strong on-field ambitions made partnering with the club a natural move.

“Get Radio’s foundations are built around our communities, its people and the organisations which all contribute to making Oxfordshire such a great place to live,” said Hamish.

“We see these values mirrored at Oxford City FC and we’re really pleased to enter a formal partnership.

“Our team will be taking Oxford City coverage to new levels through weekly interviews and features covering not only the first team, but also the women’s setup and the club’s fantastic youth structure.

“On a personal note, I’ve seen first-hand how the multi-functional nature of the RAW Charging Stadium benefits not only City players and supporters. The site is a thriving seven-day-a-week community hub which is vital in supporting the provision of sport and football-based activities locally which we love.

“It’s an exciting time to be working closely with the club and on behalf of the Get Radio team we’d like to wish Ross Jenkins and the squad every success this season.”

In addition to delivering highlights packages, Get Radio have launched a dedicated page carrying the latest Hoops news on its website.

Presenters Rich Smith and Trevor Marshall will also shine a positive light on the club and its progress on and off the pitch during the station’s daily broadcasts.

Caroline O’Connor, Partnership Manager at Oxford City FC, added: “Get Radio and its rise across Oxfordshire’s airwaves is one of the feel-good stories to emerge from the county since the turn of the decade.

“It’s great to have such a quality and well-respected channel with big ambitions onboard to back the first team and its new era in the National League. We’re really grateful for their support and would encourage our supporters to tune-in and keep across the very latest news as the season develops.”
