Oxford City’s in-form right back Jayden Carbon has spoken about the upcoming challenge of facing Sporting Khalsa on Saturday in the Isuzu FA Trophy.

“I think I’m going to treat it like a normal game. We’ve been in good form and we’re looking to take that in Saturday’s game and progress in the cup.” He said.

Carbon has been playing particularly well since the start of the season when he re-took his position in the side, and he’s been enjoying his time in the side.

“I think the main thing has been consistency. I’ve looked to improve and build on my performance’s week-in, week-out, and as a team as well, so that’s what we will aim to do on Saturday.”

Carbon, who has experience in Sporting’s step from last season also explained the challenges of the division and he’s expecting a tough battle.

“Having played in that step last season, I know it’s a tough division, they will be looking for win so we just have to play our game and focus on what we can do well.”

A Wembley cup final is the dream for all players and fans and Carbon is no different.

“It’s great competition, we want to be there at the end, at Wembley. This is the first step so we will look to win on Saturday and tackle the games after that.”

For Carbon, the upsets of previous seasons serve a reminder of how difficult is it to string a cup run together.

“We have to be at the top of our game. Just because they’re a division or two below us doesn’t mean we have to play any differently.

Fixture congestion is a widely discussed topic in the world of football right now but it’s something which Carbon relishes.

“We love playing. I enjoy it. Loads of games, it’s great.”
