Midfielder says he's ready for end-of-season run in.

A rejuvenated and refreshed Josh Ashby says he is getting better and better, game by game, as City gear up for the decisive last part of the season.

One of our longest-serving members of the squad, Ashby returned to action after a long injury lay-off and he's now looking to turn City's fortunes around.

Ashby was in red-hot form at the start of the season, scoring big goals away at Solihull Moors & in the 5-2 win over Hartlepool United.

However, he's now focused on a big end of season showdown, as the Hoops look to beat the drop.

"I'm glad to be back," said Ashby.

"It was tough being on the sidelines, but the positive thing about the dressing room was that I never felt that I was out of the picture. We've always been a tight dressing room who have each other's backs.

"I've been eager to get back on the pitch and help the lads, and now I am, I just want to do everything I can to help the boys and start changing our fortunes around."

The Hoops have ten games left in our maiden Vanarama National League season and as they have done all season, fans & pundits alike have written City off.

Although, Ashby believes that the team have to take things game-by-game, starting with Aldershot's visit to the RAW Charging Stadium on Saturday.

"It's always difficult when results don't go your way, but I really feel that we should be higher up the table based on some of our performances earlier in the season.

"The league is tough, but we have what it takes to surprise a few in these last ten games. Hopefully we can start doing that on Saturday.

"Aldershot are a good team, we know that from the opening day. They've gone from strength-to-strength this season, and they'll want to get into the play-offs so they'll be up for it.

"We've got to stand up to the challenge and get back to the standards we know we're capable of. If we do that, we've got a chance."
