Oxford City continue their Vanarama National League South campaign on Saturday afternoon at the Velocity Stadium against a difficult fixture against Eastbourne Borough.

Oxford City continue their Vanarama National League South campaign this weekend with a return home for the Hoops. David Oldfield’s men face Eastbourne Borough, who the Hoops clawed back from 2-0 down to take a 2-2 draw away from Priory Lane on matchday 3 of the 2021/22 season. Our opponents currently sit in 15th place of the table, whilst City are in 3rd place and look to push up to the top by collecting all 3 points.

Harvey Bradbrudy is still sidelined with a 3 match suspension following a straight red card against Dorking Wanderers. This fixture will be the final game of the suspension, making him available after the weekend.

Youngster Ewan Clark made his debut for the first team against Slough Town last time out, we could potentially see the starlet get more time come Saturday.

Manager’s Thoughts

David Oldfield has been at the helm of the Oxford City ship that has been doing excellently this season, and he will no doubt want to pick up another 3 points from Saturday’s fixture against Eastbourne. Here are his thoughts ahead of that game.

“We all learn together and move forward together, we win or lose together.”

“Eastbourne is another really big challenge for us.”

“We need to take one day at a time and make sure that we train as well as we can.”

Star Player

Charley Kendall

The 21 year old has enjoyed his time with the Sports this season having netted 6 times in 13 games in the Vanarama National League South. The youngster spent last season on loan at Eastbourne from QPR before making the move permanent at the start of this season. With Kendall being the Eastbourne top scorer this season, he is expected to be their danger man on Saturday afternoon.
