City sign off at home with a win

Oxford City signed off their home season with a convincing 3-1 win over relegated Rushall Olympic on an emotional afternoon at the MGroup Stadium
A second minute goal from Zac McEachran, a strike from Josh Ashby and a final home goal for Lewis Coyle gave City the perfect send off as they said farewell to the long-serving Coyle and club legend Reece Fleet, with a great goal from Theo Williams a mere consolation for the visitors.
In a one-sided first half the Hoops got off to the ideal start when the evergreen Alfie Potter skipped merrily past two weak challenges and zipped the ball across the box for the sliding McEachran to glide the ball home.
Corie Andrews fired a similar chance too close to keeper Scott Moloney soon after as City threatened to run riot and perhaps the only surprise was that it took until the 21st minute before the mercurial Potter again left his man floundering and cut the ball back before Ashby drilled home from the edge of the box to give City some breathing space.
They should have had more as they continued to run the show after the break but just before the hour Williams flew forward and burst into the box before firing home to make it 2-1 and game on
However Coyle's dream moment ended any faint hopes of a revival when sub Jaiden Putman sprinted forward and cut the ball back for Coyle to smash home from 15 yards, roaring his delight and receiving a standing ovation from the crowd for his goal but also his total commitment whenever he has pulled on that hooped shirt.
Fleet waved farewell, City applauded the fans in another big crowd and now just a trip to Spennymoor awaits before the season is over. Great way to end the home season.
