City will be looking to put Tuesday night's cruel defeat to Chippenham behind them as the Hoops look to get back to winning ways after two defeats in two.
Chelmsford on the other hand have been this season's surprise packages. Sitting fourth in VNLS, they only suffered their first defeat of the season in their last game and will be aiming for a fifth win of the season.
City continued their play off push after coming from behind to beat the Clarets.
Josh Ashby's equaliser cancelled out Tom Blackwell's opener. Dara Dada was sent off just before the interval before Zac McEachran grabbed his first goal of the season to see off Robbie Simpson's side.
Chelmsford have been the surprise package this season in VNLS. Many supporters and pundits had predicted a difficult season for the Clarets but Robbie Simpson's men were unbeaten in their first six games in the league.
In their last outing, they were beaten 4-3 by Havant & Waterlooville (which is certainly no disgrace) and a win for the Clarets tonight could send Simpson's men into third.
Form doesn't necessarily tell the whole story with the Hoops' form. A cruel defeat at Chippenham certainly wasn't deserved but ultimately means nothing when it comes to the table.
Tonight's game will be one of the toughest yet for the Hoops and a win today would put City up to fourth (temporarily at least).
Not many players in VNLS can boast that they've played in the Premier League. The forward is vastly experienced, having enjoyed impressive spells with Rushden & Diamonds, Gillingham, and Norwich City during the early part of his career. Across spells with various clubs, Jackson has now played in all the top six English football divisions, the Scottish Premiership, and the German Bundesliga. For his national side, the 35-year-old attacker has made 49 senior appearances for Canada. He was Chelmsford City’s top scorer last season with 14 goals.
Jackson has already scored four times for the Clarets this season and will be looking to improve on his impressive start.
