Gaffer wants to take positives into Saturday.

Ross Jenkins has said that his City side need to take the positives from Tuesday’s gut-wrenching defeat to York into Saturday’s clash with Ebbsfleet United.

.Will Davies’ 90+2nd minute strike will undoubtedly still sting, but the squad can take heart from an excellent second-half performance that almost broke the Hoops’ sticky spell.

Last time out between the two sides, City thrashed the Fleet 4-0 in Kent, and now Jenkins is hoping that the team can take the positives of Tuesday’s performance into Saturday.

“The win against Ebbsfleet was a pretty standout moments for us,” said Jenkins

“It’s always a difficult game (against Ebbsfleet), we know them very well.

“It’s always been a battle, and at their place we put on a performance and scored some good goals, and in a game where I thought we thoroughly deserved the win.

“They’re going to be full of enthusiasm and they’ll know a little bit more about us than other teams because we’ve played against them many times.

“They’re not going to rollover easily. They’ve had a couple of good wins, but we’ve been playing really well and I feel we’ve been unlucky.

“We have to understand that every game for Oxford City is a massive game. Everyone we play is a big club with finances, and we need to make sure we concentrate on what we’re good at.

“They’ve had some new players come into their squad and had a couple come back from injury, they’ve strengthened in key areas.

“We have to understand that if we perform like we do in the second-half of our last game (versus York) then we can give anyone a game. We have to take confidence into this game and perform again.”
