Despite going two goals ahead, City were left to rue a series of missed opportunities as Slough mounted a comeback in the last ten minutes of the match. Josh Parker's penalty had given the Hoops the lead before Alfie Potter added a second goal after the break.
However, late goals from substitutes Youssef Chentouf & Imran Kyani salvaged a point against the run of play for the hosts.
Ross Jenkins made two changes to the side that lost to Slough on Boxing Day. Alfie Potter & Josh Parker replaced Klaidi Lolos and Joe Iaciofano.
City started as the better of the two teams. Josh Ashby forced a save from Town goalkeeper Rhys Forster after the midfielder directed an effort on target after Potter's chipped ball into the box.
Furthermore, City looked the more threatening of the two sides and after coming close again through McEachran on the half hour mark, they were given the perfect opportunity to open the scoring.
The lively McEachran was clipped inside the box and the referee had no option but to point to the spot. Josh Parker stepped up to take it and sent Forster the wrong way to put City ahead.

Moreover, City carried on from where they left off almost instantly after the break. Alfie Potter latched onto a super pass that beat the Slough backline and, despite being clipped, stayed on his feet to slot past Forster to double the advantage.
Ross Jenkins' side continued to dominate the game but were questioning themselves as to how they weren't further ahead on 69 minutes. Canice Carroll sent a header towards goal after meeting Josh Ashby's corner, but Lewis Miccio couldn't find the net from inside the six-yard box to secure a third goal.
The Hoops were made to rue their missed chances in the last ten minutes when Youssef Chentouf sent a long-range effort past Ben Dudzinski. The City 'keeper beaten despite getting a palm onto a stinging effort with eight minutes to go.
Furthermore, it wasn't to be the end of City's woes. Three minutes after Slough pulled a goal back, City nearly settled the match for good, but Aaron Williams-Bushell sent an effort over the bar from a tight angle but didn't see the supporting runs from McEachran and Klaidi Lolos to his left for a simple tap in.
Imran Kyani compounded the blow when he rose highest to meet a cross with a minute to spare, robbing the Hoops of what would've been a well deserved three points. Furthermore, Slough player/manager Scott Davies had to be at his best to block a late Lolos shot from finding the net deep into added time, a goal that would've summed up a manic last few moments.
However, it wasn't to be for City. The Hoops start 2023 with a point and move on to another big game on Saturday 7th January when St Albans City visit the RAW Charging Stadium.
