Club to support local charity.

Oxford City are pleased to announce a new partnership with Oxford Charity SSNAP.

SSNAP support sick newborn, their parents and those that care for them; by providing emotional, medical, financial and informational support at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The new partnership offers families with newborn babies on the neonatal unit at the hospital the opportunity to take a break with us here at Court Place Farm, as General Manager Chris Williams explains:

“My Grandson was born in the JR at 32 weeks and I saw first hand the amazing work that goes on at the JR and the way that SSNAP support the families. In this case he remained in hospital for 84 days and that’s a long time for parents who are there all day everyday at a very stressful time.

“Other members of staff have similar stories about SSNAP and we want to help people. If they want to take a break then we are only a short stroll away. Some have just been parking here and stretching their legs.

"This week we had a father come down to use the gym for an hour and we worked with our friends at OXSRAD to make that happen. When the season starts if they want to come along and watch a game of football then we have given SSNAP season tickets to share with families.

“Working with SSNAP and local charities is an important part of what we do here at Oxford City and hopefully this is a partnership that grows and grows.”

Emily of SSNAP said, “SSNAP extends gratitude to Oxford City Football Club for their generous support of providing access to their facilities to our families spending time on the neonatal unit.

When newborn babies need specialist, often lifesaving, medical care at birth it can be a traumatic and difficult time for parents and families.

SSNAP are here to support parents in a variety of ways, with this partnership we can offer families the chance to attend a match, use the gym and take a breather just a short walk away from the hospital environment.”
