Oxford City are delighted to confirm the signing of versatile-attacker Corie Andrews.
The striker has been in red-hot form for City throughout pre-season whilst appearing as a trialist, scoring two goals against Barry Town United and once against Kings Langley (whilst assisting two more).
The Crystal Palace academy graduate worked with City Manager Sam Cox at Wealdstone last season and the duo will now link up again ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Oxford City Manager Sam Cox told www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk: “Corie is a player I’ve known previously withWealdstone and I saw the good work he did there.
“At the time he’d been injured for a long time but we brought him back into the team and he was brilliant for me.
“He had a few ups and downs with injuries towards the back end of the season, but he’s come into pre-season on the back of a good off-season. He’s been putting in the work and he looks really sharp.
“To get the deal done and bolster our attacking line is brilliant for us and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
Andrews progressed through the academy ranks at Crystal Palace and spent time out on loan in non-league with the likes of Margate and Kingstonian.
He left Selhurst Park in 2019 and made a name for himself further down the pyramid with Whyteleafe and again with Kingstonian, his solid form soon had teams competing for his signature.
AFC Wimbledon were the team to acquire his services and he returned to professional football. However, game time was hard to come by at Plough Lane and a red-hot loan spell followed in the National League with Aldershot Town where the forward scored nine goals in twenty appearances.
Another loan spell with Colchester United followed he was released from the Dons and he joined National League side Torquay United.
His stay on the English Riviera lasted for only 12 matches as he joined National League side Wealdstone. Last season, his campaign was hampered by injury but he did still write his name into Stones’ folklore by scoring a 99th minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw with rivals Barnet last season.
After helping Sam Cox and Wealdstone beat the drop last season, he now links up with Cox again ahead of the 24/25 National League North season.
