Ross Jenkins has said that he's been encouraged by what he's seen since re-joining the club.
Speaking ahead of the Hoops' trip to Warrington Town at the weekend, Jenkins said that he's seeing positive signs from the squad but realises they'll have to be at their best to take anything away from a hard-working Warrington side.
However, after City secured an impressive point against Scunthorpe, Jenkins has kept his feet firmly on the ground.
"We know what they’re (Warrington Town) about, they’re going to try get a result like we are." He said.
"We have to go up there with good body language and a good attitude to work hard first. We demonstrated glimpses of that at Scunthorpe and we got a half decent result.
"I wouldn’t say a great result because we didn’t win the game, but we got something out of it and we showed great character which is a positive sign.
"I’m seeing positivity and positive signs within the group. We’ve had a couple of players go away during the international break, so we'll get those boys back and travel up to Warrington in good spirits because the boys have trained well this week."
Warrington will prove to be tough competition for the Hoops with the Yellows experiencing an up-turn in form under new boss Paul Carden. It's a challenge that Jenkins is fully expecting.
"They're a hard working team who have good shape and work for each other.
"They can be direct at times and they put balls in the box. In the National League North, it’s a bit of a common theme with all the clubs.
"They’re hard working and honest groups of lads with good experience with some youth in there as well, so they have a good mix and blend.
"We’re fully prepared on what they’re about. What they do on the day is the unknown, we will find that out from the first minute, but it’s important we go there in good spirits and willing to work hard and try get something from the game."
