Welling just survived the drop at the end of last season, but after a summer of change the Wings look like they'll be part of the promotion picture this year after turning full-time.
The Wings have made a number of impressive signings this year and Jenkins knows that the task ahead will be tough.
Speaking to oxfordcityfc.co.uk, Jenkins said: “We take every game as it comes."
"We need to address the Welling game and it’s going to be a tough game.
“I know the manager (Warren Feeney) and they’ve re-structured their team and added new players and it’s going to be a really tough game on Saturday.
“I played with him (Feeney) when I was on loan with Plymouth. He’s a hard worker and a real firm no-nonsense character so we’ll expect that from his team.
“They’re going to be hard working, aggressive, on the front foot.”
As well as Saturday's opponents, City have started the season well. Four wins in a row have catapulted the Hoops up the table, making Saturday's clash one of the weekend's stand-out fixtures.
However, Jenkins isn't getting carried away with the winning streak.
“We haven’t got a reason to be upset and angry. The important thing is we don’t get ahead of ourselves, we’re only a few games in and every team is still sounding each other out.
“We need to stay focused and keep addressing every game as it comes. Form ultimately means nothing, Saturday needs another big performance now."
