ROSS JENKINS | WE GOT THREE POINTS THAT WE FULLY DESERVED

Ross Jenkins has praised his Oxford City side after a hard fought win over Hungerford Town extended the Hoops' winning run to three games.

On a difficult pitch, City had to come from behind in the game after David Brenang had given Hungerford the lead. However, a superb free-kick from Josh Ashby and further goals from Klaidi Lolos and Lewis Coyle sealed a 3-1 victory.

Furthermore, Jenkins' side had to maintain their composure throughout the game with a number of yellow cards brandished towards the home side. When AJ Harris-Sealey was sent off after catching Josh Ashby in a high challenge, the Hoops saw out the game in a professional manner, something Jenkins said was especially pleased about.

"The boys had to manage it, we don't have VAR here so it's the off the ball stuff we have to be careful of." Said Jenkins.

"But the team managed themselves professionally and that's all we can ask from them, for them to do their jobs, represent the club in a professional manner which they did and we've come away with three valuable points.

"It was a tough game but we anticipated that. It was something we planned for and the boys executed that plan perfectly.

"I think their goal is avoidable and that we could do better with that but it's very difficult to come here at times with the pitch but I thought the boys were brilliant today and they deserve big credit for standing up to the challenge.

"It's a difficult place to go to and a lot of teams struggle when they come here but we managed the game really well and got three points that we fully deserved."

The Manager also handed a debut to new signing Adnan Kanuric. The Goalkeeper signed on loan from Premier League side Nottingham Forest an hour before the game and Jenkins was impressed with his first performance.

"He's come in and put in a really good performance."

"Obviously we're disappointed not to keep a clean sheet and I think we could've done better in defending where the ball broke away and in the central areas but I don't think he could have done anything more to stop that.

"In terms of coming into the group and our first impressions, it's been really good so hopefully we can build on that.

"We had a loss with Archie Matthews going back to Swansea and I hope he has a speedy recovery from his injury as he's a top lad but we've replaced him with good competition which is healthy for the group. I think that will only benefit us with the strength and depth going forward."
