Gaffer previews Sports clash.

Oxford City Manager Sam Cox is hoping that his side can keep their momentum after Saturday’s victory over Willand Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup, as the Hoops prepare to face Peterborough Sports in Vanarama National League North.

The FA Cup win was Sam Cox’s first as Oxford City Manager, but he’s not taking anything for granted and challenged his squad to kick-on as they enter a pivotal stage of the season.

“It’s the old saying, you never get too high with the highs or low with the lows.” Cox said after Saturday’s win.

“It’s been a difficult start for us this season, we recognise that, but our performances haven’t been bad.

“We should’ve won a couple of games. We look at our last performance against Chorley in the league and we were unfortunate with Corie’s sending off.

“We can’t control those things but what we can control now is the performance that we put in the performance we put in today (Saturday vs Willand Rovers) and build on that on Tuesday evening.

“It’s almost like a season within a season. It’s a good starting point for us now and it’s almost like the electric cables are there for us now to take into Tuesday and kick-start our league form.

“We know where we want to be and we have to just keep going with it.”

Join us for tonight’s home match with Peterborough Sports at Court Place Farm. Kick-off is at 7:45pm and tickets are available HERE.
