We’re delighted to announce that four members of our academy have signed their first senior deal’s with Oxford City Football Club.
Hamza Al-Jabari, Josh McConnell, Mekhai Bessasa-Grant and Brayden Daniel have all signed their first deals at the club.
The four youngsters have been offered a third year on top of the provisional two years you earn from joining the
Velocity Programme for Post-GCSE students.
This has proven to show great pathways for players as many others who have come through this programme have gone on to sign professional deals at other clubs, like Latrell Humphrey-Ewers.
This is another time of many where players who show their talent have been noticed and have been brought forward for all the right reasons, proving why Oxford City is the perfect place to start your career.
Bessasa-Grant is a player who loves to drive at players when playing on the wing, and will be sent out on loan to Southern Premier South side Gloucester City, where he will continue his development in hope of progressing as a football player.
Mcconnell has seen a move to Didcot Town suit him best, a player who controls the middle of the park with his relentless attitude to compete. Josh loves a challenge on and off the field and has proven his worth at Oxford City Football Club.
Al-Jabari is someone who has only began life at Velocity, but has spent plenty of time at the Football Club working his way through the youth stages, highlighting himself impressively to coaches. Like Josh, Hamza plays through the centre in where he loves to drop deep to pick a ball up and move it up the field, helping the team from defence to attack in seconds.
Daniel is someone who has begun life at Oxford City when he featured in the U16 side, and similarly to Hamza has impressed through the ranks to get to where he is today. Someone who loves to dart down the right hand side, Brayden is a player who is quick off the hook causing defenders to spin. Brayden is currently spending a lot of time with the first team.
