TAFARI MOORE RELISHING HOOPS CHALLENGE
Wing-back ready to make the step up to the National League.
New Oxford City signing Tafari Moore can’t wait to get going ahead of the 23/24 National League campaign.
The full-back arrived from St Albans City after a stellar campaign in National League South last season and he’s now ready to take it to the next level with the Hoops.
Moore’s positive performances were key in helping the Saints reach the Promotion Final last season, performances that also earned ‘Taf’ a place in the NLS team of the season.
However, after making the step up with City, he’s hungrier than ever to continue his good form in the fifth tier of the pyramid.
“I’m feeling good, I’m excited to join the club and I can’t wait to get going this season.” He told www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk.
“After the season I had, I was hoping that I could make the next step, that was always my goal.
“Obviously to make that step with this team is a great feeling for me.”
Feelings at the end of the season for both parties couldn’t have been further apart.
A 4-0-victory for City in the Promotion Final will forever be etched into the Hoops’ history.
However, on the flip side of the coin, a super season from St Albans ended in heartbreak.

Although, despite being rivals last season in the race for promotion, Moore admitted that the Hoops’ style was an attractive proposition and a key factor in signing at the club.
“I love the style of play. Since I’ve been here the players have been great too, so now I’m looking forward to playing with them next season.
“It’s something I picked up on (the style of play).
“It’s a big thing for me; both Oxford and St Albans play football on the floor.
“I noticed that when we played Oxford and it was nice to see. It’s the way I think football should be played and that’s why I’m here.
“Over the years the National League has been seen as another professional league. The standard is great and I think it’s definitely going to be a challenge.
“I’m excited! Honestly, I can’t wait to get started and get going with the boys.”
