YOUTH TEAM SPOTLIGHT | OXFORD CITY U13 WHITES

Andrew Gate • March 13, 2023

As we continue to shine the spotlight on our youth teams, our U13’s boy’s Whites have been having an experience to savour at Oxford City.

On the pitch, the team are getting better and better each week, with players picking up more and more points in the Oxfordshire Youth B League.

However, the team have had a number of experiences that most young footballer’s won’t get to experience.

The team have played at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ training ground against Wolves academy and even played Chelsea’s foundation side this season! Experiences that the team won’t forget.

We spoke to their Manager, Jordan Trevelyan who said that the team keep improving the more the season continues.

“We’ve had some great experiences this season.” He said.

“We’ve played against Chelsea’s foundation side and it was great for the boys to play against a side like that.

“Also, we’ve travelled to Wolves and played at their training ground and our boys got to experience what it’s like at a Premier League club.

“I love coaching this team. We have a really talented side and they’ve done well after a little bit of a transition in the summer with players leaving.

“The boys keep getting better and better every week and I feel lucky to coach these boys. I think they all have bright futures ahead.

“We’re trying to coach the team in the best way we can and the way things are going we’re hopeful that we can maybe finish the season with a trophy, which would be great for the boys if we did.

“However, as long as the team keep improving & enjoying their football, the way they are doing now, then we’ll be extremely happy.”
