A look at our latest partners.

Oxford City were delighted to welcome 12 Volt Planet as Business Partners last week and in the first in a new series we caught up with Joe Miller of 12 Volt Planet to take an in depth look at why partnering with the Hoops fits so well with their business plans.

“It was incredibly quick really” Joe told us. “We came back after the Christmas break and I presented ideas to the management around how we could integrate with our local community and build our brand. I suggested working with a local football club and we could see that Oxford City are part of a really wide business network so I emailed them. Within an hour Chris Williams had replied and luckily enough he was working at home that day and he knew we were only five minutes up the road.

“We are based at Long Crendon Industrial Estate and the same day as that initial email Chris was in our office demanding coffee and outlining the ways we could work with the club! What we liked was the energy and enthusiasm but also the realism. We talked through the options, explained what we wanted to do and Chris went away and put together a package that will have real benefits for us.

“We started out in 2013 and have been expanding year after year until we are one of the biggest companies in our sector in the UK. If you race, rally, build, restore, repair, modify, install, customise, ride, off-road, camp, tow, tour, sail, cruise or motor then we aim to provide everything you need for your wiring projects.

“People within the industry saw the announcement of our partnership and it has generated so much interest. Someone asked me the other day why we had got involved with a football club but we see certain similarities: our team are truly passionate about what we do here and committed to driving the business forward. We get the same feeling every time we talk to Oxford City and hopefully we push each other upwards and onwards.

“Our advertising board goes up this week and will be seen at every First Team game, but also Oxford City Women home matches, Oxford United Women and by thousands of people who play or train on on that pitch through the week or in tournaments: every time we have visited there has been a game of football going on!

“We’re really looking forward to Saturday now when we will all be there to see City take on Kidderminster Harriers. There are plenty of football fans among the staff and being partners at Oxford City has got everyone talking. Now all we want is a home win to get the partnership off to the perfect start.”
