Continuing our series looking at the Business Partners who support everything we do here at Oxford City, this week we caught up with Anthony Tattersall of Darcica Logisitics, one of the longest serving partners for the club.
Darcica Logistics offer swift and reliable collection and delivery services, from same day courier to next day deliveries and event logistics. They handle everything from single small parcels to larger shipments on pallets. Their fleet of fully electric vehicles fare a familiar sight not just across Oxfordshire but across the whole country. Members of Palletways UK, Europe’s largest and most trusted pallet delivery network, Darcica are the people to go to for all your logistic needs!
Now in its fifth year, Bicester based Darcica Logistics continues to expand, boasting a team of 33 full-time employees and a fleet of 20 commercial vehicles, with 40% of its fleet operating on electric power.
Founded by Anthony and Melanie Tattersall, who have over two decades of expertise in transport logistics and environmental management, Darcica Logistics is built on strong family values, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to sustainability.
The company’s name, inspired by their daughters Darcey and Jessica, reflects this family-centric ethos. Anthony explains; “Sustainability is something we are passionate about, driving towards a better future for both people and planet. The electric fleet is a large part of that; we were the first business in Oxfordshire to offer electric vehicles to deliver pallets and that’s a big commitment - we are collecting and delivering approximately 50,000 pallets every year now.
"We also have plastic-free packaging for the e-commerce side of our business and our Sustainability Action Plan sets out clear targets to reduce our impact. Our vision is to be the Oxfordshire logistics partner of choice and our partnership with Oxford City FC is a key one for us because we have similar business and community links. When we did all the Ox deliveries last year for the Oxtrail to support Sobell House, we went to collect ours from the artist’s house and Oxford City’s Ox was in the same kitchen where the artist had painted both!”
Darcica holds the Gold Mission Zero Accreditation (equivalent to FORS Gold), a testament to its comprehensive Sustainable Action Plan, which aligns with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Proud winners of the ‘Business of the Year’ at the 2023 Oxfordshire Business Awards (OXBA’s) Darcica were recognised for their support and investment in people, charity, community involvement and overall commitment to sustainability, they went on to win the Sustainable Transport Awards at the prestigious national Motor Transport Awards in 2024.
Anthony continues; “Whenever we come to the MGroup Stadium there is always someone playing football on one of the pitches, any time of day or night and we have similar ideas on building a strong team and looking after our people. With values aligned, we look forward to our continued partnership between Oxford City and Darcica Logistics and supporting the Oxfordshire community”.
