Remembering Robin Antonowicz

March 19, 2025

We remembered a former Hoops player at South Shields.

Yesterday evening we remembered a former one of our own with a special presentation at South Shields.

Robin Antonowicz, who signed for the Hoops in 2003, tragically passed away after a car crash in 2005 whilst on the books at the club.

Antonowicz is still remembered at the club, and his photo is permanently on display in the 1882 Bar at the MGroup Stadium.

Last night, as City took on South Shields in National League North, it was a chance to remember one of our own.

Lisa, Robin's former partner, moved up to South Shields after the accident, and Tuesday evening's fixture with the Mariners was a chance to rekindle old memories.

We presented Lisa, her son Casper and her brother Kevin with a commemorative shirt with Robin's name and number on the back.

Oxford City Chairman Andy Sinnott (and Robin's former Manager) said: "It was a pleasure to present Lisa with a commemorative shirt as a reminder that Robin is always remembered at the club.

"We shared great memories of Robin, and that just shows that his memory lives on with everyone associated with Oxford City FC."
