Oxford City Women cruised through in the County Cup this afternoon with a 7-0 win over Barton United Ladies.
A hat trick from Emma Donohoe and strikes from Izzy Bradley, Kitty Crouch, Ellie White and Lucy White eased the Hoops through in a one-sided game at the MGroup Stadium.
City were ahead after just eight minutes when Bradley drifted across the face of the box and, left in acres of space, drilled the ball into the bottom left corner to make it 1-0.
There were chances for Bradley and Crouch before the second goal came on 22 minutes when Crouch crossed and Donohoe slotted home at the back post for her first of the afternoon.
The third came on the half hour when White saw the keeper off her line and calmly chipped it over her from 25 yards out for an excellent goal but her claims for goal of the match were scuppered on 35 when Donohoe drifted a magnificent chip over the stranded keeper to make it 4-0.
Crouch fired home a fifth before half time and although Barton worked hard and tightened the game up there was still time for the outstanding Donohoe to chip home her hat trick goal with ten minutes left and for Lucy White to steer home a seventh with two minutes left.
A thoroughly professional performance and a great way to get back into action ahead of the league games.
