The Women’s side will look to right the wrongs of last season when they lost 1-0 to Oxford United Women’s in the final.
The Hoops’ last fixture came before the new year where they suffered a heavy defeat to Portchester, postponed fixtures have put the women out of action for a few weeks and Manager Connor Walton is eager to get back to competitive football.
He said: “I’m looking forward to this weekend’s game in the cup and Barton will prove to be a tough challenge. It will be a real battle for the side.
“They are in good form and will be a good test for us.”
Barton United, who play their football in the Thames Valley Counties Football League, played their last game at the beginning of December and will be keen to test themselves against a side of real quality.
Walton is aware of the pitfalls that can come with playing a lower league side in a cup competition, he said: “League position and the level of football goes out of the window in fixtures like this.
“We just have to focus on ourselves and make sure we do everything we can. We have trained well, and we need to put it all into the game to get the result and go through.”
