Oxford City boss Connor Walton excited for battle with Reading.

Oxford City Women’s Manager Connor Walton calls for the Hoops to "maintain their form" as they host Reading in the SRWFL, in what Walton calls a "huge game".

Oxford City Women currently sit 3rd in the league table but the race for second place is still very much alive.

Reading, on the other hand have had a difficult first campaign in the SRWFL and will be looking to earn some all-important points as they bid to stay alive.

Walton is keen to not let the form slip as the Hoops come into this game on there back of a six-game unbeaten streak, he said: "It's another huge game on the weekend, obviously another three points at stake.

"We have our targets for the season and we have to maintain our form if he want to hit those goals."

While the league table suggests that City will struggle to be promoted as Ascot United are clear atop the table, motivation has not been a problem for Walton and his staff.

"We keep setting targets and different goals for different games. It's about treating every game as it comes but also showing how well we have been doing in other competitions.

"We are in the Chairman's Cup semi-final which is another motivation. There is still silverware to be won, it might not be the league but there are still awards for us to pick up."

Reading have come down from the National League this season after financial difficulties but Walton is not letting his side rest on their laurels. He understand the difficulties of playing sides further down the league.

Recently, the Women travelled to Selsey and found it difficult to grind out the win.

"It's definitely a game where we have to carry on working as hard as we have been. They are fighting for survival and they are going to work as hard as they can so we have to as well. They are unbeaten in their last three games so it's certainly not going to be an easy game.

"Their brand and their names brings 200 or 300 fans which is amazing. We could have 500 here at The MGroup Stadium on the weekend and that's really exciting for the girls.

"We really want these sides that promote the women's game in the best way possible to stay in the league because it's good for the game."
