David Oldfield "It's a big three points"

David Oldfield was thrilled with Oxford City's 2-0 victory over Dulwich Hamlet at the weekend hailing a "Big three points"

Goals from Joe Iaciofano and Canice Carroll either side of the interval saw City to victory over high-flyers Dulwich Hamlet.

The result means the Hoops climb to third in National League South and after the game, David Oldfield praised his side after securing the points.

“I think it is a big 3 points." said Oldfield.

"We’re in the middle of a very tricky period, but we say this every week, every game is so difficult.”

“We know the quality of Dulwich, I think it’s a great club, the manager and the management staff are fantastic, I think the players are really good.”

“I think it’s a big result for us today, and it’s all due to the players who worked really hard.”

“We were a collective group, we managed to take our opportunities and defended well too, so it’s a decent performance and very big points.”

“I’m very proud of them today and I think it’s a very big result against a really good side.”

“We’re just trying to progress as a club, as a group of players, as staff, as people who work around the club, as the fans and supporters who were fantastic today.”

“This week we had reminders of where we, as a first team sit in the ecosystem of Oxford City, we’re just as important as the under 7’s and we share our time on the pitch.”

City are in the midst of a difficult run of games. A 0-0 draw with top of the table Dartford on matchday 12 set the tone before Saturday's victory but the gaffer says he is keeping his (and the teams) feet fixed firmly on the ground.

“The boys are willing to do the work and we’re very proud of them for that. Sometimes we will fall down and not quite make it, but overall we try to be energetic and try to play as well.”

“We need to get back to the preparation and the work and go from there.”

“We have to keep working and keep our feet on the ground and just keep trying to do as we’re trying to do.”
