David Oldfield: "To come out with 3 points is a relief."

After a spicy A34 derby win against Hungerford Town, David Oldfield has said that he's proud of his side's battling performance.

In a feisty affair, the Crusaders were reduced to 10 men making it increasingly hard to break the hosts down. However, City finally did with only minutes to spare, with Reece Fleet's lob securing the three points. The City boss gave us his thoughts after the game.

“It was such a difficult game," said Oldfield.

"They’re all such hard games in the league and we knew that beforehand.”

“We knew we’d have to battle and work as hard as we could to get a result, and to get a late goal and to come out with three points is a relief.”

“It’s so difficult against ten men, we’ve had men sent off this season and we know you have to redouble your efforts.”

“I don’t think we particularly played very well, there were opportunities for us to pass the ball quicker, and we didn’t take our opportunities as much as we could’ve.”

“It was a game where we had to try and keep persevering and have as much patience as we can. They’re a good side, a good club. Their manager has got them organised and working very hard.”

City return to the Velocity Stadium next week to face Chippenham Town, and you can buy your tickets
