Oxford City Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of versatile defender Finn Howell on loan from Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors.
The young defender has broken into the Moors first team set-up after impressing in Solihull’s Elite Academy. He scored his first senior goal in Solihull’s FA Trophy victory over Nantwich Town last season.
He also spent two impressive spells on loan with Redditch United and Bromsgrove Sporting in step three last season and will now step up a level with the Hoops.
Howell can play as a left-sided centre-half or as a left back, adding versatility to Ross Jenkins’ side.
Jenkins added: “Finn’s come into the group and adds a freshness and energy.
“He’s a player who has a great level of fitness and a great left foot. He’ll give us something different and we’ve had great feedback on his character.
“Adding anyone into the squad with those traits is massive and straight away he’s fitted straight in. Hopefully we can help him develop as a player, he’s got all the tools to put in some good performances.”
Howell is available for this evening’s Oxfordshire Senior Cup Quarter-Final tie away at Clanfield and will wear the number 25 shirt during his time at the club.
