The lowdown on our Oxfordshire Senior Cup Quarter-Final.

Oxford City play their first round of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup against Clanfield 85 on Tuesday night as they look to add to their record 35 titles.

The Hoops are coming off the back of a dominant FA Trophy win against Biggleswade Town resulting in an away tie with National League title challengers Forest Green Rovers.

Ross Jenkins will be hoping his side can claim their sixth win in eight games in all competitions.

After a few postponed fixtures, Jenkins value any opportunity to keep match fitness up, he said: “To get any game on now is important. We have a few players who need some minutes, and we will plan and address the game properly.

“The important thing is building back good habits and trying to build some consistency. There is only so much you can do training wise, and we need to get some more games in.”

Reflecting on the win over Biggleswade Town in the FA Trophy, Jenkins said: “I thought we were very good and disciplined against Biggleswade, it was a professional performance with three goals and a clean sheet.

“We couldn’t follow it up with a game against King’s Lynn but we trained properly and getting any game on to build momentum is vital for us.”

Clanfield 85, who play their league football in the uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 (Step 6), last played a game on 28 December, a 4-1 defeat to Abingdon United. That defeat put an end to the Robins’ five-game winning streak.
