GEORGINA TAYMAN | WE WANT TO START AS WE MEAN TO GO ON

Oxford City Media Team • January 5, 2023

Oxford City Women’s captain Georgina Tayman is looking forward to returning to Southern Regional Women’s Football League action after the Christmas break.

The Hoops had a momentary break from league action over the festive period but January’s busy schedule gives the team a busy month of football to return to.

On Sunday, the ladies host Winchester City Flyers in the SRWL before a second home game in the league to Eastleigh (both 2pm kick-offs at the RAW Charging Stadium).

Furthermore at the end of the month, City have two big cup games pending with a trip to Banbury United in the Oxfordshire FA Women’s Cup and then a home league cup tie with Rushmore Community.

A busy month for our women’s side, but one that Tayman is relishing.

“We have an exciting month ahead,” the captain said.

“We have a few key games coming up that can make all the difference to us.

“We’re the team who have played the most in the league and this time of year is a pivotal time for us, in regards to where we want to place in the table.

“I think we were all ready to get back to training this week and run off all the mince pies and game day can’t come soon enough.

“We want to start the year as we mean to go on so bring on Sunday.”

You can watch Oxford City Women for FREE at the RAW Charging Stadium for our home league games with Winchester City Flyers & Eastleigh.

Kick-off for both games is at 2pm on Sunday 8th January and Sunday 15th January respectively. Furthermore, City season ticket holders can get 10% off food and beverages at the 1882 Bar and food hatch with the presentation of their season card.
