Jayden Carbon has said that the whole squad are looking for a reaction ahead of this weekend’s clash with Chorley in Vanarama National League North.
The Hoops have had a disappointing start to the season, which was compounded by two defeats over the Bank Holiday weekend.
However, City’s teenage sensation is relishing the return to action and has said that the Hoops’ first win of the season isn’t too far away.
“We’re looking forward to it and we want to bounce back.” He told www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk
“Everyone’s eager to get back onto the pitch, put things right and really start our season.
“We know what we need to do to turn the form around, I feel like once we get that win, that will really help.
“I think it’s coming, we have to stay patient, the season has just started. We know it’s not a great start, but we want to get that win sooner rather than later.”
Carbon himself has had to take a back seat of late, but the academy product has made positive impacts from the bench in recent weeks.
That’s something he acknowledges and he admits that he has to be ready for the call to action at any point.
“My job as a player is to be ready whenever I’m needed and every time I come on I have to try my best to help the team out.
“We’re always looking forward to the challenges the teams in this league pose.
“No match is going to be easy, we know that, we have to embrace each game as it comes and we’ll do our very best to get the win against Chorley on Saturday.”
Come and support Jayden and the team as we take on Chorley at Court Place Farm on Saturday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 3.00pm and you can buy your tickets HERE.
