Goalkeeper arrives on loan.

Oxford City Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Jonathan Macaulay on loan from Sky Bet Championship side Watford.

The Sweden U21 international Goalkeeper arrives at the MGroup Stadium after a successful loan spell with National League South side Hemel Hempstead last season.

He will wear the number 13 shirt for the Hoops.

Oxford City Manager Ross Jenkins said: “Jonathan’s someone I know quite well with my links at Watford.

“We’ve watched him closely and hear good things. He’ll fit in nicely here and adds a voice, enthusiasm and we’re looking forward to working alongside him.”

Born in Sweden, Macaulay joined parent club Watford in February 2021, since then he’s showcased his ability for the Hornet’s U21 side.

He recently signed a new two-year deal at Vicarage Road with an option of a third.

Macaulay has already attracted attention on the international stage. He has represented England at under-18 level, making his debut against Australia in June 2023.

However, he has also played for his country Sweden in a four-nation youth tournament in September 2023. On top of all that, he can also represent Ghana on the international stage.

Last season, Macaulay spent time on loan with National League South club Hemel Hempstead.

Welcome to Oxford City, Jonathan.
