Oxford City Striker Josh Parker isn’t giving up hope on the Hoops’ survival hopes as the squad prepare to face Rochdale in the Vanarama National League.
Parker is the City's top scorer this season with eleven league goals, and he says that the team have to keep believing.
Speaking to www.oxfordcityfc.co.uk earlier in the week, when asked if any of the squad had given up, Parker said;
“I don’t think you can whilst there’s still hope,”
“You have to believe.
“I think that should be built into your character and that’s synonymous with life.
“When things get tough you just have to get on with it and believe that there’s always a shining light at the end of it.
“We can still stay up, I have all the faith in the boys. We have all the talent; it’s just that this season has been a tough one.”
The Antiguan international has been a key cog in Ross Jenkins’ side since joining in September 2022, and his work rate and desire have stood out to the City fans.
“I’m a very proud person. I care.” He continued.
“I have high expectations of myself. I have a lot of self-pride and a lot of things I want to achieve.
“For me, I know my role in this team. Like I say I have high expectations of myself, and when we lose I take it with me because I believe I can make the difference.
“I wear it [the shirt] with pride, so it’s one of those ones where it’s just my character.”
