City were impressive throughout the ninety minutes, but had to come from behind after Tom Bonner had given the away side the lead in the first-half.
Ross Jenkins made three changes to the side that played in the FA Trophy on Saturday. Klaidi Lolos returned to the starting XI from injury alongside Alfie Potter and Andre Burley, in replace of Charlie Rowan, Joe Iaciofano and Latrell Humphrey-Ewers.
The game was a tightly contested affair in the first ten minutes but the first chance of the game fell to the Hoops. Zac McEachran fed Lolos through on goal but the striker dragged a low drive inches wide of the target.
City were impressive against a side that were bidding to top the table. Lewis Coyle came close after Aaron Williams-Bushell picked out the winger from a bright counter-attack, whereas McEachran tested Dartford's resolve again but couldn't hit the target with a chance from inside the box.
However, despite City's impressive play, the away side took the lead on 25 minutes when Samir Carruthers' cross was met by the head of Tom Bonner. Dudzinski was at full stretch to try and get to the effort, but it was inch perfect from the Darts' captain.
Half-Time: Oxford City 0-1 Dartford
City had more defending to do after the break. Connor Essam fired a shot at goal ten minutes after the re-start but the impressive Andre Burley was alert to the danger and cleared the danger with a great clearance off the line.
In recent weeks, City have ben wondering when their luck in front of goal was going to change, and it was no different in this game. Josh Ashby fired an effort that rattled back off the post, a familiar story in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, City continued to pile on the pressure but there was a sense of de ja vu around the RAW Charging Stadium when the woodwork came to Dartford's rescue again. This time it was Reece Fleet's turn to go for goal, but his drive from outside the box hit the wrong side of the post.
Despite City's good pressure, the defence had to be on high alert, and Dudzinski did well to save efforts from ex-Hoop Luke Coulson and Kristian Campbell.
With six minutes to go, Ross Jenkins' side must've been thinking it wasn't to be their day when Lolos went close. The striker raced onto an effort and beat Dartford debutant 'keeper Archie Mair to the ball. He prodded an effort past the goalkeeper, but before it could cross the line, Maxwell Statham recovered well to hook the striker's effort off the line.
Despite this, City never gave up and they got their reward three minutes from time through and unlikely source. A cross was floated into the box from Josh Ashby, and after a goal-mouth scramble centre-half Canice Carroll touched in a deserved equaliser from inside the six-yard box. 1-1.
Moreover, City weren't content with just a point and went for a winner. Reece Fleet took aim from outside the box but 'keeper Mair was equal to the midfielder's effort.
All in all, an impressive point for City to accompany another impressive performance. Next up, the Hoops are back on the road as Jenkins' side travel to Cheshunt on Saturday.
