SOBELL HOUSE

Sobell House is a hospice based on the Churchill Hospital site and is part of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is jointly funded by the NHS and Sobell House Hospice Charity. They offer specialist palliative care to those facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement in Oxfordshire. This encompasses physical, psychological, social and spiritual care and includes supporting their families and those close to them. They care for around 3,000 patients and their families every year.

It is their mission to enrich the lives of our patients and those who love and care for them. They aim to make sure that excellent palliative and end of life care is available to everybody in our community who needs it.

SEESAW

SeeSaw provides support for children, young people and their families in Oxfordshire when they have been bereaved or when somebody close to them is terminally ill.

SeeSaw was established in 1999 in response to a lack of appropriate grief support available to children and young people, and their families, in Oxfordshire. They have more than 20 years experience in providing high quality grief support to help reduce the emotional, psychological and mental health consequences of bereavement.

Their vision is to offer free support before and after a bereavement for all children and young people in Oxfordshire, if they need it. Each year SeeSaw provides support for over 500 bereaved children. They work directly with children and young people and provide advice to families on how to support their child themselves, either in person, by phone or online. They also offer support to schools and professionals working with bereaved children and provide online resources accessible to all.
