Update: OxTrail 2024

July 30, 2024

An OXcellent reaction to our latest resident.

We have had an incredible response since our Ox arrived at Court Place Farm as part of the amazing  OxTrail 24

The Ox, designed and painted by renowned artist David Cutts is on display at Court Place Farm and for the next eight weeks visitors to our world-famous city can follow the Oxtrail, visit the sites and scan a unique QR code within the Oxtrail app which will send them a Family Ticket for a game this season.

Hundreds of people have come along to see the Ox and we have been happily showing them around our home and talking to them about the wonderful work that Sobell House do.

General Manager Chris Williams said

"It has been a wonderful thing to be involved with and we have formed new friendships with so many businesses across Oxfordshire- there are 138 Oxen around Oxon and Sobell House is the thing that unites them all.

“I think we felt it would be tourists following the trail around the city but we had a couple here the other day who have lived in Oxford all their lives and were ticking off the last Ox on the app.

"They told me “it has meant we saw parts of Oxford we never even knew existed”.

The art will be on display until the end of August 2024. After this, sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for the hospice.

You can download the app HERE.

About Sobell House

Since 1976, Sobell House Hospice has provided compassionate care to adults with a life-limiting illness and supported their loved ones. At any given time, they care for around 500 people across Oxfordshire at home, on their inpatient unit, in the local hospitals, and through their Living Well service.

Their mission is to enrich the lives of their patients and those who love and care for them. That’s why their focus is on the here and now and making every moment matter. By providing patients with a better quality of life, Sobell House hope to give them more time making memories with loved ones, or doing what matters most to them.

Sobell House Hospice is jointly funded by the NHS and the Sobell House Hospice Charity.  Every year, the Charity raises around £2 million to help fund the care we provide.
