More than 60 local charities are in the running to win Oxfordshire’s Brand the Bus 2025 competition to have their message splashed across a double-decker bus for a year. 

The deadline for entries to Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel’s annual competition closed at the weekend with 64 good causes entering in total.

Now Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel are encouraging people to vote for their favourite good cause to win Brand the Bus. The winner will scoop the biggest prize yet with a bumper advertising package worth £100,000. 

The public vote which opened on New Year’s Day closes at 23:59 GMT on Tuesday 1st April. The 10 entries that receive the most votes will be shortlisted with the final winner to be selected by a panel of judges. 

The winning organisation will be announced in June 2025 and the bus emblazoned with the winning charity’s brand is set to hit the roads of Oxford and surrounding areas in the autumn. 

The prize also includes advertising onboard Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel vehicles, radio exposure on Oxfordshire’s local radio station Get Radio and the status of being Oxford City Football Club’s charity of choice for the 2025 season. 

Highly commended runners-up will also win advertising packages of on-board digital screen advertising worth £2,000 and £1,000.

Last year a record-breaking 11,000 people cast their vote before Oxford Hospitals Charity eventually scooped first prize. 

Other past winners have included Oxford Hospitals Charity, SeeSaw, Girl Guiding Oxfordshire, Home-Start Oxford, Blue Skye-Thinking and Restore.
